F-actin
- Drp1-mediated mitochondrial fission regulates calcium and F-actin dynamics during wound healing
Summary: We show that mitochondrial dynamics proteins are required for epithelial repair. Drp1 loss-of-function leads to defects in the dynamics of cytosolic and mitochondrial calcium, ROS production and F-actin upon wounding.
- F-actin reorganization by V-ATPase inhibition in prostate cancer
Summary: V-ATPase activates multiple stress responses. In prostate cancer, sub-lethal concentrations of V-ATPase inhibitors trigger widespread traffic defects. F-actin assembles into rings that mimic those seen during regulated exocytosis.
- Apical constriction and epithelial invagination are regulated by BMP activity
Summary: We describe a novel role for BMP activity in promoting a direct and cell type-independent mechanism for apical constriction, cell elongation and epithelial invagination, separate from acquisition of placode-specific identities.
