Xenotransplantation of Human glioblastoma in Zebrafish larvae: in vivo imaging and proliferation assessment
    Luis A. Vargas-Patron, Nathalie Agudelo-Dueñas, Jorge Madrid-Wolff, Juan A. Venegas, John M. González, Manu Forero-Shelton, Veronica Akle
    Biology Open 2019 8: bio043257 doi: 10.1242/bio.043257 Published 13 May 2019

Summary: The combination of light sheet fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry allows assessment of proliferation and tumor growth of human GBM inside zebrafish, making it a useful model to identify effective anti-proliferative agents in a preclinical setting.

  • METHODS & TECHNIQUES
High-throughput live-imaging of embryos in microwell arrays using a modular specimen mounting system
Seth Donoughe, Chiyoung Kim, Cassandra G. Extavour
    Biology Open 2018 7: bio031260 doi: 10.1242/bio.031260 Published 9 July 2018

Summary: This Methods & Techniques article describes a customizable device for mounting and live-imaging a wide range of tissues and species; complete design files and instructions for assembly are included.

  • METHODS & TECHNIQUES
Systematic and general method for quantifying localization in microscopy images
Huanjie Sheng, Weston Stauffer, Han N. Lim
    Biology Open 2016 5: 1882-1893; doi: 10.1242/bio.019893

Summary: We evaluate a metric for quantifying localization in microscopy images, termed the threshold overlap score, which is simple to calculate and interpret, generally applicable, and suitable for mixed localization patterns.
